Helping Hands, Found Mittens (European) by Sergio Trevino
i traveled in europe during the winter of 92-93. while traveling around, i came across childrens’ lost mittens or gloves. this were laying , usually single, on street sidewalks, restaurant floors, subways, etc. i became fascinated by the lost mittens and imaged of making a hat for my cold head. i never made the hat but i continued to hold on to the mittens, looking at the little hands i came to think of them to be like a sign. i remember them laying on the streets and subways like sign posts pointing to a specific course which i now follow.
